Honest Junk’s commitment to staying sustainable would be impossible without our nonprofit partners! Combined with our sister nonprofit, Chicago Furniture Bank, we have the means to ensure that every reusable item gets redirected from a landfill into the hands of those in need.
Chicago Furniture Bank
All revenue earned by Honest Junk goes directly to our sister nonprofit, Chicago Furniture Bank.
The mission of the CFB is to provide dignity, stability, and comfort to Chicagoans that face poverty by allowing clients to handpick an entire home’s worth of furniture for free.
As of 2023, the CFB has furnished over 13,000 homes through partnerships with 400 local social service agencies, diverting 5,000+ tons of furniture from landfills.
St. Vincent DePaul
We work with St. Vincent DePaul Chicago to help ensure any donations of items such as food, art supplies, and children’s items are redirected from landfills.
Cradles to Crayons
Cradles to Crayons are working towards making Children’s Clothing Insecurity a thing of the past, so any time we receive clothing in good condition, it gets rerouted to their mission.
Rebuilding Exchange
Rebuilding Exchange helps us redirect items such as large appliances, fixtures, and various building/construction materials.
Working Bikes
Working Bikes helps us redirect items such as bikes, scooters, and appliances, while also repairing broken bikes we pickup to further donate!
Open Books
Our partnership with Open Books has allowed us to redirect the massive amount of books we collect into the hands of those without access to them otherwise.
